An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Senior Management Team of Plymouth Pavilions. The Pavilions is managed by Theatre Royal (Plymouth) Ltd (TRP) and is one of the most forward thinking and dynamic organisations in the South West. TRP consists of the Theatre Royal, Plymouth Pavilions and TR2 (the company’s production and education centre).

The Pavilions’ Arena has built a deserved reputation for punching above its weight in terms of the scale and diversity of its live programme of events. The venue’s great strength is its ability to present a unique blend of live entertainment, music, sporting events, exhibitions and conferences.

This role will lead, manage and develop the programme of activities in the Pavilions’ Arena to optimise their commercial return to the company. The post holder will have responsibility for driving the strategic and tactical marketing functions to maximise ticket sales and raise the profile and status of the venue at a local, regional and national level. As a member of the company’s senior management team the successful candidate will have shared corporate responsibility to drive and participate in organisational strategic planning processes.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable professional experience of marketing and programming in a comparable venue with excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate with colleagues in a variety of disciplines and departments.

The office intern will provide general administrative support to ATG London’s busy offices. These offices house the office of the Joint Chief Executive & Creative Director, the Executive Director’s office & Programming department and the Production & Casting departments.

Duties are a wide variety of general office tasks including, by no means exhaustively, support to meetings, telephone & reception, photocopying, faxing, research and errands; with potential opportunity for more challenging tasks.

The ideal Candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Have aspirations of working in the theatre industry, ideally in production or administration.
  • Be studying theatre or equivalent at university level, or be a recent graduate.
  • Be punctual and well presented.
  • Have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Be an ambitious and quick learner, and highly self motivated.
  • Have competent IT skills (ideally including Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Be confident and pleasant when dealing with people, both on the telephone and in person.
  • Have some experience of working in an office.
  • Be prepared to undertake a wide variety of tasks, to be executed to the best of their ability.
  • Resilient and adaptable with a flexible approach to working some unsociable hours (e.g. attending Press Nights).

Initially we are looking for someone for 4 to 6 weeks. 

This is an on-going requirement, but we are particularly interested in applicants available between mid-March and mid-June and from September onwards.
