Calculating Per Diems (except for Ireland and the U.S. - see below)
Per diems are calculated using the 10-hour 'B' rate from the Foreign and Commonwealth (FCO) Handbook, which sets a rate for most countries and major cities. The Full Irish Equity rate is (Updated 4 July 2007):
59.42 Euros for companies who do not receive a subsidy 66.56 Euros for companies partially subsidised 81.21 Euros for companies fully subsidised
Per Diems for the U.S.
$71.50 - effective 1 January 2008. Applicable for anywhere in the U.S., regardless of what facilities are provided.
Increase in Travel Time Payments (paragraph 6(b))
£17 - for 8 to 12 hours
£41 - for 12 to 20 hours
£54 - for over 20 hours
