In association with TMA Theatre Award for Achievement in Dance To be awarded for work produced in the past 12 months by an individual dancer or choreographer, creative team or producer or a company. The award may be given for a production or a season of work.
TMA Theatre Award for Achievement in Opera To be awarded for work produced in the past 12 months by an individual singer or musician, composer, creative producer or team or a company. The award may be given to a production or for a season of work.
TMA Theatre Award for Best Design To be awarded to a set, costume, lighting or sound designer or team of designers for a theatre, dance or opera production staged in the past 12 months.
TMA Theatre Award for Best Director To be awarded to the director or co-directors of a production staged in the past 12 months. TMA Theatre Award for Best Lighting Design To be awarded to a lighting designer or team of designers for a theatre, dance or opera production in the past 12 months. This is a new award, established in 2008, to recognise the particular contribution of lighting design to the artistic and technical quality of productions. In 2008 the award is supported by the Association of Lighting Designers.
TMA Theatre Award for Best Musical Production The award will be given to the production of a new musical or a revival originating outside of the West End or a new production of a musical staged in the previous 12 months.
TMA Theatre Award for Best New Play To be awarded to a new play staged in the previous 12 months by a TMA member theatre company or producer and originating outside of the West End.
TMA Theatre Award for Best Performance in a Musical The award will be given in recognition of an individual performance or the performance of an ensemble or group of performers in a musical produced in the past 12 months by a TMA member theatre company or producer.
TMA Theatre Award for Best Performance in a Play The award will be given in recognition of an individual performance or the performance of an ensemble or group of actors in a play produced in the past 12 months by a TMA member theatre company or producer.
TMA Theatre Award for Best Supporting Performance in a Musical The award may be given in recognition of an individual supporting performance or the supporting performance of an ensemble or group of performers in a musical produced in the past 12 months by a TMA member theatre company or producer.
TMA Theatre Award for Best Supporting Performance in a Play The award will be given in recognition of an individual supporting performance or the supporting performance of an ensemble or group of actors in a play produced in the past 12 months by a TMA member theatre company or producer.
TMA Theatre Award for Best Touring Production To be awarded the best touring production staged in the past 12 months by a TMA member theatre company or producer.
TMA Equity Theatre Award for Best Show for Children and Young People This award recognises the quality of work especially created for children and young people. Productions by TMA members staged in the past 12 months are eligible. The Stage Award for Outstanding Achievement in Regional Theatre Awarded to a company or individual which, in the opinion of The Stage newspaper, has made an outstanding contribution to theatre in the year in question.
TMA Special Award for Individual Achievement This award is given to an individual in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the performing arts. The award may be given in recognition of: long service to a company, organisation or particular sector of the performing arts; the contribution to the development of an art-form or opportunity for creative artists; long-term influence on business standards within the industry; the contribution to the development and promotion of the UK performing arts through international touring. Recipients of the award may be individuals who are members or member representatives of the TMA or individuals who are associated with the work of TMA member organisations and the performing arts industry.
