The TMA is the UK’s major business association representing the interests of and providing professional support for the performing arts in the UK. Our members include theatres, multi-purpose venues, arts centres, concert halls, commercial producers, touring theatre, opera and ballet companies, sole traders and suppliers to the performing arts.
We provide members with a comprehensive portfolio of services including access to our legal team, employment relations advice specific to the sector and a programme of professional development learning to support best practice within all areas of performing arts management. We advocate on behalf of our members to champion the value of investment in the performing arts and represent the interests of our members to government bodies and authorities at national, local and international level.
Throughout the year the TMA promotes an extensive programme of conferences, seminars, training and networking events for the performing arts industry and those working within it.
In 2011, the TMA re-launched the previous TMA Theatre Awards (held since 1991) and TMA Management Awards (held since 1995) in a new combined annual event, Theatre Awards UK, which celebrates the creative excellence and outstanding work in UK theatres.
