Membership

Membership of the TMA is open to any individual or organisation providing a service to the live entertainment industry, or deriving parts of their income from an arts related activity.

The TMA provides an extensive range of services and membership benefits, offering practical support to members and representing the performing arts industry with a united voice.

Membership benefits include:

  • Regular, comprehensive updates on business, legislation and employment relations issues and the implications for your business

  • The protection of the TMA National Collective Agreements with Equity, BECTU, Musicians Union and Writers Guild
  • Participation in the annual Theatre Awards UK, an annual event which celebrates the creative excellence and outstanding work in UK theatres and the performing arts industry

  • Subscription to the TMA’s quarterly magazine industry-specific magazine, PROMPT, and our monthly e-newsletter

Representation:

The TMA represents the interests of its membership at all levels of national and European government.

The TMA works closely with:

  • Government departments, local authorities, EEC bodies and trade unions to influence policy development and financial investment across a broad range of issues, including employment, education, cultural activity and tourism.
  • The UK Arts Councils to address issues affecting the industry and to provide specific services for its members.
  • Its sister association, the Society of London Theatre and other professional associations including ABTT, the ABO and ITC to maintain a co-ordinated approach to the development of the performing arts industry across all scales of company and venue.
